Wenzhou Medical University (WMU) is a Grade A medical university administered by Zhejiang Provincial Government. Originally it was formed as Zhejiang Specialized Medical School in 1912.
The MBBS programs has been listed by WHO's World Directory and is recognized by MCI, USMLE, UKPLAB etc. Approved by MCI from 2007.
Wenzhou Medical University has 18 affiliated hospitals. It has full English medium MBBS curriculum.

Eligibility for MBBS admission in Wenzhou Medical University
Age : 18 to 24 as on 30th July in the year of Admission.
Class 12 marks : Minimum 60 in each subjects Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English in 10+2 exam.
NEET marks : Minimum 150 in NEET in the current year.
Good English proficiency.
Special Note: A written exam for English Proficiency Test will be taken by Wenzhou Medical University after reaching China. Students failing the exam will be sent back. It is a 70 mins Objective test mainly to check the Grammatical and comprehension skill of the student. So we will take only those students who are from English medium background all through his / her studies. If any student fails and are sent back by the University, we will not refund any fees that are taken in India. (Students failed in 2017 : 4, in 2018 : 15, out of 100 in each year)

Brief Introduction about Wenzhou Medical University:
Wenzhou Medical University (WMU) is a key university of Zhejiang Province. Originally established in 1912 as Zhejiang Special Medical School in Hangzhou city, later the campus was transferred to Wenzhou city and was renamed Wenzhou Medical College in 1958 and Wenzhou Medical University in 2013.
From 2014, it was managed and funded by Government of China Ministry of Education, National Health and Family Planning Commission and Zhejiang Provincial Government.
Wenzhou Medical University started its 5 year’s undergraduate program in 1958 and a master’s program in 1978, among the first institutions in China, authorized to confer a master’s degree.
Now WMU has a primary discipline doctoral program of Clinical Medicine and a postdoctoral research station.
There are 8 primary discipline master’s degree programs, some of which are:
Chinese and Western Integrative Medicine,
1 national engineering research center,
1 state key laboratory and
11 provincial or ministerial key laboratories (research centers),
1 provincial collaborative innovation center and
10 provincial key subjects labs.
At present, the total enrollment of WMU is 26,780 students including 700 International students from India, Bangladesh, Nepal and 47 more countries.
Composed of four campuses, WMU covers a total area of 330 acres with a building space of 5,50,000 sq mtrs.
The university library has a collection of 22,50,000 volumes. WMU publishes 5 academic Journals and 1 academic newspaper, among which three journals are listed in CSTPCD. In addition, the Chinese Journal of Optometry & Ophthalmology and Visual Science, is listed as one of Chinese Medical Association Journals.

These four hospitals are grade A hospitals and earn a great reputation in Zhejiang province. The First Affiliated Hospital of Wenzhou Medical University is a grade 3A hospital located in Wenzhou, Zhejiang, China. It is also recognized as the First Provincial Wenzhou Hospital of Zhejiang. It was founded in 1919. It serves for a population of 2 crores of the Southern Zhejiang-Fujian region.
As of 2018, this hospital had 26 lac outpatient and emergency visits, 72,000 hospital visits, and 36,000 surgeries.
The hospital employs 5000 + staff members, including 260 senior professors, 309 associate professors, 15 PhDs, and 156 master’s degree instructors. Its current bed capacity of 3,000 is complemented by 56 treatment centers and clinical departments, 10 medical departments, a medical institution, a surgical center, and a medical experiment center.
In recent years, WMU has undertaken more than 1300 scientific research projects of provincial level or above. More than 50 projects have won provincial, ministerial or national prizes, among them, are:

Zhejiang Province Government Scholarship
The Zhejiang Government Scholarship sponsors students who are studying at or applying to study at higher education institutions (HEIs) in Zhejiang Province.
Scholarship amount varies from Rs 50,000 (5000 ¥) to 100% of the Tuition Fee.
School of International Studies of Wenzhou Medical University was funded in 2006. It is one of the largest sized international education institutes in Zhejiang Province. In 2007, Wenzhou Medical University has been listed as one of the medical universities which have reached the quality control standards of enrolling international students issued by the Education Ministry of China. School of International Studies of WMU provides comprehensive medical education for international students from all over the world.
Currently, there are 700 students from 50 countries studying at the school. Students are mostly from India, Bangladesh, Nepal, many African and European countries.
